The Montessori Teacher
Montessori teachers are not the centre of attention in the environment. As the teachers, our role centers on the preparation and organization of learning- materials to meet the needs and interests of the Montessori children. The focus is on the children learning, not the teachers teaching. They are observers whose ultimate goal is to intervene less and less as the child develops more. They promote independence, critical thinking, as well as promoting the many different freedoms that Montessori writes about.
Philosophy
The Montessori Philosophy is based on supporting the holistic development of the child as they progress from birth to adulthood. It takes a broad vision of education as an aid for life. As a way of teaching, Montessori offers the view that knowledge isn’t passively gained by learning words. Rather, it is gained through experiences in the surrounding environment. Hence, the Montessori approach develops the imagination for the child to be a lifelong learner.
The Montessori Environment
The Montessori environment is specifically prepared consisting of activities and experiences with an integrated focus to the core curriculum of Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Communication, Language and Literacy, Knowledge and understanding of the world, physical education, arts and creativity as well as mindfulness/yoga and sustainability. The environment is calm and nurturing and uses a holistic approach.

Quality Child Care
GMN looks at the whole systems thinking: Education for sustainability at a Global Montessori Nursery.
We are keen advocates in valuing peace, and GMN nurtures and instils kindness, thoughtfulness and respect in other and our planet Earth.
We have small ratios between staff and children with highly qualified, Montessori teachers in a certified Montessori setting.
We have already incorporated mindfulness within our pre-school curriculum, and hold two yoga sessions per week with a certified children's yoga teacher. Other enrichment activities include Arabic, the arts and sports activities.
